What is Grimoire?

Grimoire is a digital spiritual companion app for solitary witches. It combines a private journal, daily tarot draw, lunar calendar, planetary hours, deity journal, natal chart, herbology compendium, spell builder, and a library of sacred texts: all in one app. It is built as a private, ad-free alternative to apps that treat spiritual practice as productivity.
What is a digital grimoire?

A grimoire is a personal book of magical knowledge: spells, rituals, correspondences, and reflections on practice. Traditionally kept as a handwritten book, a digital grimoire brings the same concept to your phone: a private, searchable record of your craft that goes everywhere with you.
Who is Grimoire built for?

Grimoire is built specifically for solitary witches: practitioners who work alone, outside of a coven or formal tradition. It is tradition-agnostic and suitable for Wiccan, eclectic, hedge witch, green witch, kitchen witch, sea witch, and any other path. No prior knowledge or experience is required.
Is Grimoire affiliated with any specific tradition or religion?

No. Grimoire is entirely tradition-agnostic. It provides tools and references drawn from multiple traditions without prescribing any particular path. The witch path quiz, deity journal, and reference library are designed to support practitioners of all backgrounds.

What is the Daily Pulse?

The Daily Pulse is your morning spiritual orientation: a single screen showing your daily tarot draw, current moon phase and sign, planetary hours for your location, sunrise and sunset timing, and tidal energy. It is designed to take as long as you have, from thirty seconds to twenty minutes.
Does Grimoire calculate natal charts?
▾
Yes. Enter your birth date, time, and location and Grimoire calculates your full natal chart using a real astronomy engine: sun, moon, rising, and all planetary positions. Your chart is saved to your Soul Portrait alongside your witch path, patron deities, and numerology profile.
What is the Deity Journal?

The Deity Journal is a devotional record-keeping tool for logging your relationships with the divine. You can record offerings made, signs received, sacred dates, and the history of your practice with each deity. Each entry links to the deity's full profile in the Pantheon reference library.
What is the Spell Builder?
▾
The Spell Builder is a structured five-step tool for composing and saving ritual workings. You set your intention, select correspondences from the Vault, write your rite, and save the complete working to your grimoire with date, moon phase, and outcome notes.
What is Scent Magic?
▾
Scent Magic is a three-step blend wizard for crafting ritual oils, incense, and sacred sprays. You choose your magical intention, select a blend type, and layer botanicals using an ingredient pyramid structure. Each ingredient shows its magical properties and planetary correspondence alongside its aromatic notes. Scent Magic cross-references your Apothecary stock before you begin.
What sacred texts are available in the Bibliotheca?

The Bibliotheca includes the Key of Solomon, the Kybalion, Three Books of Occult Philosophy (Agrippa), the Egyptian Book of the Dead, the Hávamál, the Golden Bough, Isis Unveiled, The Secret Doctrine, Lives of Alchemystical Philosophers, and more. The library grows with each update.
How many themes does Grimoire have?

Grimoire comes with five hand-crafted themes: Parchment (warm light mode), Stormy (dark slate and silver), Forest (dark earthy greens), Celestial (midnight blue and gold), and Blood Moon (deep crimson and obsidian). Themes can be switched with a single tap.
Privacy & Data
Is my data private?
▾
Yes. Your Grimoire journal and Shadow Work entries are stored locally on your device and are never uploaded to any server. Grimoire contains no advertising trackers and does not sell your data. An AI exclusion toggle lets you confirm that your content will never be used for AI training.
Where is my journal stored?
▾
Your grimoire journal entries are stored on your device only. They are not synced to the cloud, not accessible to anyone else, and not used to train any AI model. The Shadow Work journal has an additional layer of device-only storage with no cloud backup option at all.
Does Grimoire use my location?
▾
Grimoire uses your city (entered manually by you) to calculate planetary hours and solar timing. It never accesses your precise GPS coordinates. Your location data is never shared with third parties.
Does Grimoire have ads?
▾
No. Grimoire will never contain advertising. It is funded entirely by the subscription fee. No ads, no data brokers, no attention economy.
Can I export my data?
▾
Yes. You can export your full grimoire journal, deity records, and practice history as a PDF or JSON file at any time, from within the app.

A Premium subscription unlocks the full app including the natal chart, deity journal, spell builder, shadow work journal, and all advanced features. How much does Grimoire Premium cost?

Grimoire Premium costs $4.99/month. An annual plan is available at $39.99/year (around 33% off, equivalent to $3.33/month). Regional pricing applies in some markets. See the pricing page for the current rate in your currency.
Is there an annual plan?

Yes. Pay for a full year upfront and save around 33%. The annual plan is $39.99/year in USD (equivalent to $3.33/month), or the equivalent in your local currency.
Can I cancel at any time?

Yes. Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled at any time from within the app with no penalty. Annual plans are billed upfront for the year.
Is there a free trial?

Yes. All new accounts receive a 14-day free trial of Premium when they subscribe, giving you full access to every feature before you decide.

Do I need to follow a specific tradition to use Grimoire?

No. Grimoire is built for solitary practitioners of all paths: Wiccan, eclectic, hedgewitch, green witch, chaos magic, and beyond. The app does not prescribe any particular tradition. Your practice, your rules.
I am new to witchcraft. Is Grimoire suitable for beginners?

Yes. Grimoire includes a Lessons section with structured beginner guides covering tarot, astrology, herbology, ritual structure, and the fundamentals of practice. The witch path quiz and patron deity quiz are designed for practitioners at any stage, including complete beginners.
How do I find my witch path?

The Witch Path quiz in Grimoire's Discovery section asks seven questions built around resonance rather than knowledge: what draws you to the craft, what time of day feels most sacred, what kind of practice you're naturally drawn to. Your result is one of ten archetypes saved to your Soul Portrait.
