THE VAULT

Crystal & Mineral Reference

Every stone in your practice, with its full magical tradition.

The Vault is Grimoire's crystal and mineral reference: a browsable library of stones used in magical practice, each carrying its full magical tradition: planetary ruler, element, zodiac sign, chakra associations, working intents, magical properties, healing notes, folklore, and care guidance. Filter the gallery by planetary ruler (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus) to surface every crystal aligned with a working's timing. Or browse the full library and let the stones find you.

Every entry connects directly to your Apothecary so the reference and your stock tracker are always one tap apart. Save any crystal to your My Craft journal as a Crystal entry, its full magical profile recorded alongside your work. Crystals in the Spell Builder and Shop are cross-referenced to the same entries, so a stone you buy or choose for a working always has its context close at hand.

What's Inside

Crystal Gallery

The full library in a filterable grid: browse by planetary ruler or scan the complete collection. Each card shows the stone's name, its primary planet, and an image. Tap to open the full entry.

Planetary Filter

Nine planetary rulers (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus) each filtering the gallery to the crystals traditionally aligned with it. Surface the stones that suit a working's timing at a glance.

Magical Properties & Intents

Each entry carries the stone's magical properties and working intents as searchable tags: protection, love, clarity, abundance, banishing, grounding, and more. The full symbolic picture of what a stone does.

Planetary, Element & Zodiac

Every stone with its planetary ruler, elemental correspondence, and zodiac sign: the layers of the correspondence system that connect a crystal to a working's broader symbolic architecture.

Chakra Correspondences

Each stone mapped to its primary chakra associations (root through crown) for practitioners who work within that framework alongside the Western magical tradition.

Folklore & History

The story behind each stone: its history of use, its place in folk magic and traditional practice, and what accumulated use has assigned to it over time. Not invented; drawn from documented tradition.

Healing Notes & Safety

Healing notes from the herbal and crystal healing traditions, plus safety and handling guidance where it applies. Which stones should not be placed in water. Which should not be worn against skin continuously. Responsible practice noted clearly.

Cleaning Guide

How to cleanse and recharge each stone (sun, moon, earth burial, running water, smoke, sound) and which methods can damage particular stones. The care information a working collection needs.

What is The Vault?

The Vault is a crystal and mineral reference library: the stones of magical practice, each presented with the full symbolic and practical context a working witch needs. Planetary ruler, element, zodiac, chakras, intents, magical properties, folklore, healing notes, safety considerations, and a cleaning guide sit alongside each stone's image and description in a single scrollable entry.

The library is filtered by planet, which is also the tool's primary use in practice: when timing a working to a specific planetary day or hour, open the corresponding planet filter and see immediately which stones align with it. A Venus working on a Friday: rose quartz, rhodonite, malachite. A Saturn working on a Saturday: obsidian, black tourmaline, jet.

I keep a small number of stones and use them repeatedly rather than collecting broadly. Black tourmaline at the threshold, obsidian on the working altar, moonstone near the Hecate shrine. The Vault is where I check the fuller lore of a stone I have been given or found: what tradition assigns to it, which moon phases it is most active under, how to keep it properly. The cleaning guide alone has saved several stones from water that should never have met them.

On sourcing

A note on sourcing.

Crystal mining has documented ethical and environmental concerns: child labour, unregulated extraction, environmental damage, and widespread mislabelling. If you buy crystals, where they come from matters. The Shop carries stones from suppliers who can verify origin and extraction practices. When buying elsewhere, the questions worth asking are where the stone was extracted, whether the miner was paid fairly, and whether the label is accurate.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

What is The Vault in Grimoire?

The Vault is Grimoire's crystal and mineral reference: a filterable library of stones used in magical practice. Each entry carries the stone's planetary ruler, element, zodiac, chakra associations, working intents, magical properties, folklore, healing notes, safety warnings, and a cleaning guide. Filter the gallery by planetary ruler to surface the stones aligned with a working's timing, or browse the full library by name.

How is the gallery filtered?

By planetary ruler. The nine classical and modern planets (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus) each have a filter that surfaces every crystal traditionally aligned with that planet. Choose the planet that governs your working's intent or timing and the gallery narrows to the relevant stones. Tap any stone to open its full entry.

What does each crystal entry contain?

The stone's name and any alternative names. Its planetary ruler, element, zodiac sign, and primary chakras. Its working intents as tags (protection, love, clarity, and so on). A description of the stone's appearance and characteristics. Its magical properties and traditional magical uses. Folklore and history of use. Healing notes. Safety and handling guidance. A cleaning and recharging guide. Where the stone is typically found.

How does the cleaning guide work?

Each entry includes specific guidance for that stone: which cleansing methods are safe and which should be avoided. Many stones are damaged by water (selenite, malachite, pyrite); others by extended sunlight (amethyst, rose quartz). The guide gives the correct method for the stone in hand rather than generic advice that can cause real damage.

Can I save a crystal to my grimoire?

Yes. Tap Save on any crystal entry and it lands in your My Craft journal as a Crystal entry: name, planetary ruler, element, chakras, magical properties, and intents recorded alongside the rest of your practice.

How does The Vault connect to the rest of Grimoire?

Crystals in your Apothecary link back to The Vault for their full magical entry, so your stock tracker and the reference are always one tap apart. The Spell Builder draws on the same crystal data when you choose a stone for a working; every selection is backed by the stone's full correspondence profile. Crystals in the Shop are matched to Vault entries so you know exactly what you are sourcing before you buy.
