About Grimoire
Grimoire is a spiritual companion app for solitary witches: a digital grimoire, practice journal, and esoteric toolkit, available on Android and iOS. It is developed and operated by a UK-based sole trader. These Terms govern your use of the Grimoire app, the website at getgrimoire.app, and any related services (together, the “Service”). By downloading the app or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. Questions? Email us at grimoireapp@protonmail.com.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Grimoire. By using the Service you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
Your Account
To use most features you must create an account with a craft name (or real name, your choice) and email address. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials safe and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please provide accurate information and do not impersonate anyone else.
You can delete your account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete Account. On deletion, your personal data is permanently removed in line with our Privacy Policy.
Licence to Use the App
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Grimoire app on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial purposes. This licence is the End User Licence Agreement for the application binary.
You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or distribute the app; rent, sell, or sublicense access to the Service; use automated tools to scrape or extract data; or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure.
Your Content
You retain full ownership of everything you create in Grimoire: your grimoire entries, journal records, spell logs, ritual notes, deity associations, sigils, shrine content, and any other material you write or upload (“Your Content”).
By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, host, and display Your Content solely in order to provide the Service to you. We do not use Your Content for advertising, to train AI models, or to share with third parties beyond the sub-processors described in our Privacy Policy.
You are solely responsible for Your Content and warrant that you have all necessary rights to it and that it does not violate any law or third-party rights. We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to remove content that violates these Terms.
Acceptable Use
Grimoire is a personal practice tool, not a social network. Please do not use the Service to upload unlawful or harmful content, harass or harm anyone, distribute malware, attempt to access other users' data, or use the Service for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent. Do not attempt to misuse, hack, or place an unreasonable burden on the Service or its infrastructure.
Subscriptions and Payments
Grimoire offers a free tier and a paid subscription (“Grimoire Premium”). Current pricing and included features are displayed in the app at the time of purchase.
Subscriptions are billed on a recurring monthly basis through the Google Play Store (Android) or Apple App Store (iOS). You are subject to the relevant store's payment terms. We do not handle payment card data directly.
You may cancel at any time via your device's app store account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access to Premium features until that date. We do not offer partial-period refunds except where required by law or by the relevant app store.
We may change subscription prices. We will give you at least 30 days' notice before any price change takes effect.
Affiliate Links
The in-app shop contains affiliate links to products on Amazon via the Amazon Associates programme, on Etsy via the Etsy affiliate programme, and on other partner platforms. If you purchase through these links we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions fund app development; curation is independent of commission rate. Affiliate links are clearly identified within the app.
Intellectual Property
All intellectual property in the Service, including the Grimoire name and brand, design, code, and reference content (tarot meanings, herbology database, deity reference, sacred calendar), belongs to us or is licensed to us. Nothing in these Terms transfers any of our intellectual property to you beyond the limited licence above. You are welcome to link to the site.
The Waitlist
By joining the waitlist you agree to receive a one-time notification email when the app launches. That is the only thing we will send you without asking first. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to that email or by writing to grimoireapp@protonmail.com.
Third-Party Services and Links
The app connects to third-party services (Supabase, Nominatim, and others described in our Privacy Policy) to function. The app and website may also link to external sites such as Google Play. Grimoire is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of any third-party service. When you leave getgrimoire.app, you are subject to the terms of wherever you have gone.
Disclaimer
Grimoire is a personal practice and journalling tool. Content within the app, including tarot interpretations, herbology information, astrological data, and esoteric reference material, is provided for personal, spiritual, and educational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, or financial advice. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or if required by law. We will endeavour to give reasonable notice beforehand, except where immediate action is needed to protect other users or the integrity of the Service. On termination, your licence to use the app ends and your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise. If any part of these Terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via an in-app notice or email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using the Service and delete your account.
